Our History

BGV Motorsports started up in 2010 in Northern Illinois, with two Chicagoland All Wheel Show Series events (judged, competitive car, truck and motorcycle show events) in Mundelein (the North Show) and Aurora (the South Show). In 2011, BGV added their first Chicagoland All Wheel Cruise Night Series and the Chicagoland All Wheel Show - West (Elgin) event, for a total of eight events that year. Over the years, BGV Motorsports experienced tremendous growth, scheduling over 800 events through the 2021 event season, throughout Chicagoland and Southern Wisconsin. Events were hosted as far north as Russell, Illinois and Salem, Wisconsin, as far south as Bolingbrook and Lemont, as far west as Wasco and Woodstock, as far east as the City of Chicago and La Grange, with many locations in between. 

 

At the conclusion of the 2021 event season, BGV Motorsports began transitioning their Northern Illinois events to two local car show and cruise night companies, while providing operational and promotional assistance behind the scenes through the 2022 event season.

 

 

Fundraising

Raising funds at every event to benefit 501(c)3 charities, causes and families in need is a major focus for BGV Motorsports. Their top fundraising season raised over $54,000, with over $250,000 raised by the start of the 2022 event season.  

 

Company Leadership
BGV Motorsports' President and Owner, Steven Howorka, along with his partner Amy, have lifelong passions for coordinating a variety of fun and educational events to support the community and small businesses. Their focus is to give more than what is asked for and exceed the expectations of their partners and guests for every event.

 

Steven's passion for cars started with his first vehicle - a 1968 Chevy Chevelle Malibu! Over the years, he's owned, and worked on (in both a personal and professional capacity), a variety of American classic cars and sports cars. Prior to running his own automotive events, Steven attended a variety of car shows, cruise nights, and racing events throughout Chicagoland and the United States during his leisure time, as both a vehicle enthusiast, an event volunteer, and a past member of multiple car clubs.   

 

Additionally, Steve has judged for a variety of indoor and outdoor automotive events, including Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals and Chevy VetteFest, judging a variety of muscle cars, race cars, and sports cars.
